Why Dope Black Mums?

Dope Black Mums was founded by Nina Malone who wanted to connect and share with other women of colour without the need to explain or appease. It is a digital safe space for black women to navigate motherhood together.  It is a sisterhood and a micro community that strengthens and supports black women from the diaspora to parent from a place of empowerment. This, in turn, supports the wider community.

What is Dope Black Mums?

Dope Black Mums is a movement to empower black women who are mums and to confront stereotypes surrounding blackness in mainstream media. You can connect with us via our various online platforms as well as attending our live events and tuning in to our podcast.

What is the Dope Black Mums’ Podcast?

The Dope Black Mums’ Podcast is a bi weekly insight into our experiences - with inspirational guests, insightful topics, eye-opening honesty and lots of laughter. You can listen on all the usual streaming platforms including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

I’m not Black, can I still get involved?

Yes, of course! Our What’s App group is the only platform that is specifically for Dope Black Mums. All our other platforms and events are open to everyone. Whether you identify as a Dope Black Mum, Dad, Woman or Man, if you are raising Dope Black little people or if you would just like to learn more about a different culture or perspective - we welcome you. Do you campaign and act as advocates?

At Dope Black Mums we believe in supporting black mothers to thrive. Where possible we raise awareness, campaign and advocate for mother’s rights and social issues.
